Both Acer and Samsung have come up as the pioneering Chromebook manufacturers, and right now, you have even more choice as Acer ships its Chromebooks out this week.

Both the Acer and Samsung notebooks have a 1.66Ghz Intel Atom N570 dual-core processor, a 16GB SSD, but differ in their screen size, 11.6″ and 12.1″, with resolutions going up to 1366×768.

Acer makes its price competitive by offering a WiFi-only model, going at $349, and it comes with a glossy display. Although you’d wonder why you bought a WiFi-only Chromebook when it’s meant to be lugged around, and be basically crippled without an internet connection.

On the other hand, the Samsung Chromebook has a better finish and has a bigger screen, with price, removable battery and user-changable RAM and SSD.
