FREE: Portal: The Flash Version
Like Portal but hate the fact that it forces you to play in extremely low-res? Wanna play it directly from your browser? Well, now you can.
Portal: The Flash Version is a flash-based 2D spin of the popular game from Valve, which involves you using yellow-and-blue portals to navigate yourself through an obstacle course. The game is completely free, and can be run on your web browser.
While the game is quite fun, you’d want to lower your graphics quality down (‘O’ button) because the game is extremely intensive, especially on levels with multiple objects. The game falls short when compared to the 3D version of Portal as it is a bit more difficult to see where exactly you’re firing. At times when the crushers are landing on your head, you’ll really want to know whether you will be able to shoot a portal on the wall that might or might not be blocked by another object, but you can’t. Perhaps the crosshair should indicate whether your portal can be shot or not.
The game has 40-levels, and if you’re a beginner, there’s also a tutorial play-as-you-learn guide. It will definitely entertain you for quite some time.
